NeurOekaki BBS - Slowly out of that akward, puberty stage.

For first-time users or confused users:

This BBS has specific features and mannerisms that may be confusing to a first-time user:

Refresh - DO NOT USE THE REFRESH BUTTON ON YOUR BROWSER TO RELOAD THE PAGE. It causes comments that you have made to repeat. If you would like to refresh the page, please use any of the sorting options (ie "order by newest picture"), or use the "Click here to reload page" located at the bottom of each picture comment box.

Login System - It is recommended that you set a user name and password first and foremost. (This does not mean that it is necessary to register, it just makes life easier). The top of the screen will give you a link to register your name until you do so. Please BE SURE to remember your USER NAME (not your regular "name") and PASSWORD as they are important. They are case-sensitive.

Once you register, you can change your settings by clicking on "edit profile" at the top of the page.

The login system is your bitch. It keeps track of the pictures you've drawn, which oekaki applett you prefer to draw with, the number of pictures you like displayed on each page and your other info. If you use multiple computers at school for example, you can always log in without redoing all of your settings.

Birthdays - If you have entered your birthday under your profile information, a message under the "my pictures" link will show up to let everyone know that it's your birthday. Handy for gift-pictures. ^o~ If you don't want your birthday displayed, there is no reason to enter in your birthday in your profile information.

Animation - This is turned on by default. In order to turn it off, you have to UNcheck the "Allow others to view animation" checkbox, which will appear below your picture once you submit it (the same screen where you enter your title and comments ^_^)

Continue - This feature enables people to continue from where you left off in your picture if you enable it. This may not work unless you are signed in with your user name and password. In order to turn on this feature, check the "Allow others to continue picture" checkbox, which appears below your picture after it is submitted (again, same screen where you add the title and comments). If this box is left unchecked, only you will be allowed to continue your picture.

Sometimes you will have to wait for a minute or two while your picture is being rendered... this is natural, and naturally, it will take longer to render if it is a bigger picture. ^_^

Refine - This works the same way as continue and can only be used by you to replace an older picture (say, in case you have to fix a mistake, etc but do not need to repost the entire picture..). If your "new" picture does not display your changes after submitting it, close your browser, open a new one, and return to the site. Your new picture will be displayed properly.

Unfinished - This option shows up immediately after you post a picture. When you mark a picture as "Unfinished" it will show up under "My Pictures." You will not be able to see it on the main page.

Picture Titles - In case you are unable to make an initial comment or title your pictures for any reason, you will see a small link under your pictures that says, "edit." Here you can change the title or comment.

HTML - Sorry, this board doesn't allow use of html and some special characters.

NeurOekaki? - It's called that because Neuro made everything (except for the oekaki and pallete apps, made by Shiichan ^^).
